New Beginnings

I wanted to go to the woods or to get some pics of the baby foxes that live behind our house but they have not been out as of yet, and well the woods thing didn't happen. So I took pics of flowers around the house and neighbors yards and this is what I came up with.

Who do you think I am!!!

Who do you think I am?

I can tell you that I am a single mom of two very adventurous boys in their teens, who decided late in life to change her career to something that would allow me the ability to do things for my kids that I would not be able to do if things had stayed as they were. So in the fall of 2004 I embarked on a great journey through college, I have been successful to date obtaining my Associates degree in Computer Information Systems from IVY Tech to which I turned that right around to work on my Bachelors degree at IUPUI in the IU School of Informatics concentrating on Integrated Media.

It is in my studies that I have surprised myself many times over in my abilities to achieve grades that I never thought possible for myself. It is because of this I am glad that I waited to go to college allowing myself the increased maturity to make the most out of every minute I have in college. My hope is that my experiences will set an example for my boys and they will see that you can achieve what you set out for regardless of the obstacles that you have facing you and that nothing is handed to you, you must go out and get it yourself, on that note the sooner the better. Hopefully they will see that if they put their minds to it they can achieve great things while they are still young and have a full life ahead of them.

While speaking with my Aunt whom I live with she says that:

Michelle is a personable, caring person full of love to give. She is bright, and a hard worker. She has ups and downs in life and is dealing with some really difficult situations right now. I do have to say that her attire is sometimes what I would call risque, but she has a good heart and will do well in life.

Fear Factor

Ok for my fear I am going to divulge one of my current fears and I am looking for the reaction of the class. I am going to reveal some very stressful experiences that I am facing at this time.

I was recently exposed to the HIV virus a number of times by a man that I had dated for several months. He failed to inform me that he was diagnosed with full blown AIDS in 2004. Just so you all know I have tested negative at 3 months but will continue to be tested until one year in November. He actually told me that he was clean in which I had no reason not to trust him at the time. I now realize that I should have made him prove what he was saying. This has done a number on my trust.

I am fearful of the reaction of people and how they will perceive me after hearing the information. My biggest fear is that many will either loose respect for me all together or that they will think very poorly of me as a person.

Although my hope is that since you all are well educated you will not have a predisposed notion of me in a negative way.

Circles all around us

Circles are all around us, take for example the human body. The human body is comprised of millions of circles from our blood cells, the blood vessels that cells travel through to our shape, human hair is comprised of layers of circles, the medulla, cortex and the cuticle. The clothing that we wear although it does not appear to be a circle it is made of nothing but circles the thread or fiber to make an article of clothing is in itself a circle, the opening that goes over you body (yet again a circle) is a circle as well as the openings for your head, arms and legs, depending on the article. If you cut your finger off the shape is that of a circle the same for all parts of the human body. I can not even begin to list all the circles in the human body. Almost every thing that touches our live including our lives is comprised of a circle, in the molecules that make up almost anything that touches our lives. Just in the chore of moving is a circle, you pack your things put them in a truck unload them off of a truck and unpack them, the circle starts all over again if you decide to move at a later point in time. The point is is that our world is made up of millions and millions of circles which when in actuality a point is a circle. Ha

Below you will find a few examples of circles some I created and some I found in a google search.

Coax cable is actually 4 circles in one

At least 2 in one circle

Crops of Circles in review

Had a great class talking about circles and crop circles we had edible crop circles, font crop circles, stories of them and loads more.

The discussion of circles has me thinking and I will try to step more away from my comfort zone to see what I can find.

Circles from the crop

Hummingbird Crop Circle appears in a barley field in Whiltshire.

Ancient Mayan Crop Circle Symbol - Said to be sign of impending 'Apocalypse' - Silbury Hill, Whiltshire.

Circles of circles from the Crop

I chose these images from UFO Reports because they most remind me of my Indian heritage. What I find fascinating is that when they are created is that when they are created the plant of the field that they are in is not harmed the stalk of the plant is merely bent keeping the plant healthy. One other thing as I look at these pictures that fascinates me is that the images or shapes that are created are created with a circle inside the circle. you can see it best in the hummingbird image above.

Rules in Review

Ah Monday's class was a riot. I had great fun, talking about the rules in a round about way. It was great to finally meet Beth and see that she is doing well. The half full can of coke was exquisite as it sat there all alone. LOL I can't wait for next week to see what the crop circles brings into the discussion.

Rules Rules Everywhere Rules

5 Rules I wish didn't exist:

  1. Winter has to be cold in Indiana.

  2. Your Kids have to grow up.

  3. Paying sales tax.

  4. The time change thing in Indiana.

  5. You can't change the shape of a room.

5 Rules that should exist:

  1. Indiana would go back to the time zone that does not change time.

  2. People do not have to grow up totally.

  3. The ability to put a roller coaster in your back yard.

  4. Coloring outside the lines should be acceptable.

  5. Windows should be open source.

Egg in Review

The projects for the egg assignment were very creative. I found the class to be enlightening and encouraging. I look forward to the next assignment.

The Egg

The assignment is to obtain an egg and to do something with it.

I have pondered this assignment for hours thinking, what can I do with an egg that maybe hasn't already been done? And as I sit in my chair at my desk all I can think of is how fragile yet strong the shell of the egg is.

How it represents life in general, how the shell is strong and can withstand a tremendous amount of pressure, but can crack and break with the slightest amount if you are too rough with it. Does that not symbolize life in general?
